Net Galley Book Reviews
July 14th, 2025

Being part of the book community has led me to discover fun ways to read books that I might not find on my own.
One way of doing so has been through NetGalley. I recently joined NetGalley, a company that allows publishers and authors to upload books and audiobooks for readers to enjoy access to in exchange for a free and honest review.
I want to share a few books that I've had access to lately! One was a fantasy, one a thriller, and one a romance. I would recommend them all, so if you like those genres, try them out:
The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst

Rating: 4 Stars
Publisher: Bramble
Publication date: July 15th, 2025
I read the first book, The Spellshop, and liked it. But I liked this second book in this series even more. It’s an interconnected stand-alone, and it’s so cute. This cozy fantasy gives the warmest vibes. The author does such a great job at building this world and making you fall in love with the characters, creatures, and scenery.
I like how the narrator does different voices for the many living things. It’s both funny and heartwarming to listen to each character and learning their personalities through their dialogue and actions. The narrator of this audiobook did an amazing job of bringing the author's words to life.
I felt that, at times, the writing could be overly detailed, and I wish it were slightly shorter, but the story was so beautiful that it made up for it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for access to the audiobook in exchange for a free and honest review.
Night Watcher by Daphne Woolsoncroft

Rating: 4.3 Stars
Publisher: Hachette Audio
Publication date: July 8th, 2025
I liked this one! Please read it if you are a fan of thriller/mystery/horror. This fast-paced thriller has such creepy parts that made me want to keep reading. The narrators of the audiobook did a good job of expressing the characters' emotions, making it easy to stay engaged with the book. I liked the characters and the plot. I genuinely thought this novel was going to go in a different direction, and my guess as to who the “Him” in the book was surprised me. And I love being surprised with a thriller!
There were a few plot lines that didn’t add up to me and seemed a little dragged out, but it wasn’t off-putting to the point where I was confused or bored. The pace of both the narration and the plot kept me interested.
I would recommend this. Again, there were some creepy parts (which I loved), so if you don’t like creepy, just beware. Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Audio for giving me early access to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
Pugs and Kisses by Farrah Rochon

Rating: 3.5 Stars
Publisher: Forever
Publication date: July 15th, 2025
Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for early access to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
In Pugs and Kisses, we follow Evie and Bryson, two veterinarians, attempting to save an animal rescue where they both worked at the beginning of their careers. Although they are both adjusting to sudden life changes, they find themselves drawn to each other for a second chance at love.
In this book, you’ll find heartfelt moments, strong female friendships, humorous characters, and adorable pups. The writing style reminds me of a mix of Abby Jimenez and Kennedy Ryan.
The audiobook was very well done! The narrator does a great job of changing her tone to fit the different characters (both male and female). She’s also great at expressing emotions, making you feel what the characters feel.
The one thing I didn’t like was that the plot fell a little short towards the middle of the book. It got a bit slow for my liking, but I think that this book was made to be more of a cozy romance than an emotional one.
The audiobook was super quick and an easy book to throw on while driving. I would recommend it if you’re looking for an easy, cozy romance!
